Floatation for large diameter ropes is a necessity for preventing hawsers made from Nylon and Polyester from sinking, from FPSO SPM moorings to cyclone moorings.
Floatation is essential to keep lines from complete immersion, which can result in entanglement on submerged equipment causing damage or parting the line. Hawser floatation gives the line better visibility for inspection and position in and around floating structures, and aids retrieval on large hawsers.
Jeyco makes its own floatation to suit lines from 50-120mm diameter and can produce custom floatation on demand. Manufactured in line with accepted industry practices, Jeyco floatation collars are widely used in Australia and the region for cyclone mooring hawsers.
